Abstract: Basing on the results of sociological research conducted in a uniform manner in rural areas of Russia – Siberia, the Urals and the Volga region, this study provides an expertise of the processes of transformation of economic structures in the agrarian sphere from the viewpoint of their innovative potential and significance in the sustainable development of the rural society. Comparative analysis of the impact of various organizational forms of agricultural production on the social situation in rural communities makes it possible to assess the degree of efficiency of the existing economic structures in terms of the risks of their formation.
