Streszczenie: Water ecosystems of the Aral Sea and Syrdarya River watershed bear adverse anthropogenic impact last decades. Sattar snowtrout (Schizothorax intermedius McClelland, 1842) is a widespread and well recognized native species of fishes here. Morphological and histological analyses were provided. Decreasing of maximal age and body length as well as several impairments gills and liver were revealed for populations of sattar snowtrout from different inflows of the Syr-Darya River as a result of human activity. Hence, sattar snowtrout can be recommended as a bioenvironmental sentinel organism for human impact assessment in the Syrdarya watershed.
