Streszczenie: Aquatic macrophytes Pistia stratiotes was grown in various concentrations of Cr (VI) and Zn solution for 15 days. The trend of bioaccumulation was reported high in Pistia in Zn culture. Metal toxicity in the floating plants showed significant effect on phytomass along with the inhibition in chlorophyll, protein, sugar, NO3-N and PO4-P uptake inhibition. The uptake and accumulation of Cr in the root was always higher than that of shoot except between 4 h to 48 h duration at initial concentration of test metal.
