Streszczenie: The production of cellulose requires high amounts of heat. To assess the energy efficiency of a generator for production of saturated steam used in a cellulose production line, a modern method of analysis was used – the exergy analysis. The present paper reports for the elaboration of material, heat and exergy balances of a steam generator for saturated steam with parameters P=1.8 MPa and T=210 0С. The calculations are carried out on the basis of production data. The exergy efficiency was calculated to be 41.71 %. It was found that an increase of the temperature of the air fed into the combustion chamber and an increase of the parameters of the steam obtained will give higher efficiency of the steam generator.
