COPPER SLAG OXIDATION UNDER ISOTHERMAL AND NON-ISOTHERMAL CONDITIONS

Streszczenie: Oxidation of copper slag in air under isothermal (at 700, 760, 800, 860 and 900oC) and non-isothermal (25 – 1000oC) conditions is studied using simultaneous DSC-TG and DTA-TG analysis with a flow rate of the oxidizing gas of 20 ml/min. Mechanism of the oxidizing process is proposed on the basis of the thermal curves and XRD studies. The values of the activation energy are calculated from the measured data (temperature, heating rate and weight change) using isoconversional methods. The differences in the obtained kinetic parameters are explained with the complexity and different mechanisms of the ongoing processes.
