Streszczenie: In the early 90s of XX century Central and Eastern Europe gone through collapse of the socialist system (planned economy), the liberation of many countries from the domination of the Soviet Union and the socio-economic transformation. It affected every aspect of social and economic life, including science and higher education. This study recognizes the trends in education at the level of higher education in Poland in life sciences universities. The study presents statistics data regarding the life sciences universities in Poland, as well as a case study analysis of the situation of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS). Study recognized development of Polish higher education on the socio-economic transformation, especially in terms of the number of universities, students, faculties, etc.
