Streszczenie: This study examined the experiences of pre-service teachers who participated in courses that included an independent study unit on an online campus (Campus IL) to understand the advantages and challenges of this experience. The research was rooted in the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) perspective, which postulates that there are basic universal psychological needs that must be satisfied for people to experience growth: connection and relatedness, competence, and autonomy. The participants were 30 students enrolled in three different courses on Hebrew language teaching. The research tools included a semi-structured questionnaire that the students filled out at the end of the semester and in-depth interviews with 22 students who expressed their consent to be interviewed. Four main findings emerged from the data analysis: (1) a positive, professional, and sense of competence experience (2) enjoyment from the diversity of teaching methods and Improvement in their Academic Learning Skills (3) satisfaction with the flexibility of the schedule; and (4) sense of connection and relatedness
