Streszczenie: This paper presents some basic theoretical aspects concerning the predictive maintenance applicable to high voltage switches as well as (on line and off-line) methods of monitoring and diagnosing the status of their main contacts. All principles are applicable to other many high voltage devices like surge-arresters, separators etc. Some fuzzy-logic algorithms are used to determine the key elements of the predictive maintenance. Those algorithms are implemented into powerful software tools for high voltage equipment maintenance. It is a clear example of implementing technology changes in order to obtain a higher efficiency of some existing equipment with low costs.
