Rezumat: Foreign trade constitutes an important factor of economic development. Germany became the number one trade partner of Poland in the beginning of 1990s. Poland’s accession to the European Union resulted in considerable improvement of conditions for the Polish-German trade. An attempt has been made in the paper to analyze the amount, dynamics, balance and commodity pattern of trade between Poland and Germany from 2003 to 2012. Competitiveness of Polish goods on the German market was studied in order to determine fields of revealed comparative advantage as well as to measure intensity of intra-industry trade. The development of trade relations between Poland and Germany was presented against the background of the engagement of the two countries in world trade.
