Rezumat: Recent gender researches identify that gender intersects with other social structures, including race, ethnicity, sexuality, citizenship, social class, age, and disability; and with various institutions, including family, the state, the economy, the media, and education. Studying the texts literature may help in exploring the inequality between male and female in an eastern society like Iraqi Kurdistan region, since the issue of gender inequality in this region has not got much attention of the linguists and literary researchers. The objective of this research is to present a framework for understanding the ways in which the salient identities of gender, class position, sexuality, and other demographic characteristics function simultaneously by the press to produce the outcomes we observe in the lives of individuals in order to further the understanding of gender and to promote the application of this understanding to the solution of social problems and the achievement of equality locally and globally. This research tests the assumption that news story language has its own characteristics in every speech community. The study also concludes that the lexical and morph-syntactic choices of females are different from males. It further speculates influence of stories language on language of media. The study uses both qualitative and quantitative methods in analyzing the data. The data consists of six news stories text which is taken randomly from 48 issues of Xabat newspaper of one year (2013). The perceptions of 30 males and 30 females were recorded on the news stories in an ordinal scale for analysis.
