Rezumat: The author of the present paper have conducted an analysis of energy production coming from its renewable sources in the European Union countries, with the division into its basic sources: wind, water, solar power, geothermal power, biomass and municipal waste. The level of their concentration has been determined in it. The authors have also evaluated development of national markets of renewable energy with the use of synthetic development measures coming from the Multivariate Statistical Analysis methods. Spatial autocorrelation has been evaluated in the paper with the use of Moran coefficient. The conducted research allowed the authors to do the following things: determine the existent differences in the development level of regional renewable energy markets, classify the European Union's countries in terms of renewable energy sources use, verify the hypotheses on lack and existence of spatial autocorrelation, evaluate concentration level of chosen renewable energy sources in Europe.
Cuvinte cheie: renewable energy market, spatial correlation, herfindahl-hirschman index, cluster analysis
