HEAT RESISTANT LAMINATED COMPOSITES FROM METAL FOILS WITH PYRO-CARBON, SILICON-CARBON AND CARBIDE COATINGS

Rezumat: The work combines three different methods for producing coatings with carbon and silicon  pyrolytic carbon coating on niobium, solid-phase carbide coatings on metal foils using thermally expanded graphite, and silicon-carbon coating from the vapor phase. If the first and last coatings have been known for a relatively long time, the solid-phase method of applying carbide coatings to metal foils using TE-graphite tapes has been used only recently by us. A unifying factor is the solid-phase synthesis of heat-resistant layered composites using metal foils with coatings obtained by each of the methods described in this work as starting elements.
