Rezumat: The fibrous materials used in paper production are obtained by chemical processing of wood or straw. In most cases, fibrous materials of plant origin are used for paper production. These are the different types of cellulose, high yield cellulose, semi-cellulose, different types of wood pulp and secondary fibrous material. The microscopic method is used in paper production to study the structure and size of the source fibres, to control the grinding process and to determine the fibre composition of the paper. In order to use numerous types of paper, different fibrous materials are used in a certain ratio. When choosing them, the sheet-forming properties of fibrous materials are taken into account, which together determine their ability to provide the necessary properties of the paper. The aim of the present work is to present a microscopic analysis of the condition of the fibrous materials, some peculiarities in the composition and structure, as well as their connections with leaf-forming properties in the formation of a paper sheet. Studying and knowing these properties makes it possible to obtain paper with certain qualities.
