Rezumat: Most beginner’s book in Russian as a foreign language (my own beginner's book being an exception), fail to introduce students to the subject of verb classes. As result, even advanced students tend to fail to understand that forms such as «рисоваю» are incorrect. We believe that this and similar errors can and should be prevented, and that this can be done starting from level A1. To this aim, we have developed a table of verb classes, part of which we have implemented in our textbook for level A1, with explanations and exercises for this level. For higher levels, we gave lectures on verb classes using mentioned table, several of which are available on our YouTube channel. The table of verb classes is included in our book «Russisk morfologi» (“Russian morphology”). We very briefly touched on this table last year, when we participated at a conference here in Burgas where we presented the application and presentation of grammatical materials in our textbooks for РКИ for Norwegians. This year we will present this table in detail. We will show you how it looks and explain the principles behind its organization and presentation of verb classes, as well as share our experiences with regard to how our students have received it and our own evaluation of the degree to which the table has helped our students.
