HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENT SATISFACTION OF BILINGUAL TEACHING

Rezumat: The study aims at revealing higher education student satisfaction of selected bilingual courses and teaching of the course. The study employs interviews with 87 higher education students and presents the interview results showing how satisfied they are with their bilingual courses and teachers, why they are satisfied and why they are not satisfied. The study results imply that higher education students are satisfied because the bilingual courses could broaden their global perspectives, enhance their professional knowledge while strengthen their foreign languages but they are not satisfied of the level of difficulty when they are reading textbooks in an authentic foreign language, reading boring PPT slides or doing complex homework. Meanwhile most of the higher education students are satisfied with teaching methods and the charm and personality of teachers. Moreover, the study reveals that after class interaction with teachers could make students satisfied with the bilingual course and teachers as they share with each other both knowledge and personal life experiences even though most of the students keep silent both in class and after class. Last but not least, this study provides a bunch of suggestion to promote student satisfaction of bilingual teaching.
