Rezumat: In the following text, we will examine the limits of an individual's autonomy in relation to their gender identity and self-determination. We will focus on the philosophical and legal aspects of the above issue. In the presented text, we will define the issue of the relationship between personal autonomy and corporeality, especially in connection with the body that we acquire at birth. Individuality is given by the face, voice, overall body and its characteristic features, gender, which can vary in various ways. It is precisely the diverse variations of gender that can cause difficulties in creating a free and authentic life in a medical, legal and social framework. In the text, we gradually define the importance of the face for our orientation in the social sphere, in communication with others. What are the limits of our freedom in relation to our body? We point out the possible limits of autonomy in specific experiences of gender and in specific gender variations.
