Rezumat: In recent decades, microemulsions have been successfully used as reaction medium allowing the realization of chemical reactions and the synthesis of various organic and inorganic nanostructures. The aim of this work is to evaluate the surface tension forces and study the influence of some factors on the size of carbonate nanostructures formed. The values of the surface tensions of the individual phases were calculated, as well as the value of the interphase tension. The nano-sized particles of barium and calcium carbonates were obtained at various ratios of the phases forming the microemulsion and were studied by qualitative analysis and electron microscopy (TEM) to determine their shape, size and structure. Their sizes varied from 20 to 30 nm.
