Rezumat: Constantly decreasing primary energy sources and environmental issues are part of the reason to seek alternatives by developing new technologies. Biomass as organic matter of vegetable origin and animals can be recycled, processed and used for the extraction of energy. In the presented work looking at the different types of biomass as a potential source for energy. A rating of the energy potential of different types of biomass. Furthermore, an overview of the main methods for processing and to generate energy. The final result of the work is a classification of different types of biomass and grouping in terms of their efficient processing to produce energy on a particular method.
