Abstract: The paper presents the impact of innovative companies on the competitiveness of the economy. It shows the situation in Poland and the main problems faced by Polish companies, as well as the relationships between their innovativeness and the competitiveness of the national economy, also during the recent economic crisis, stressing that through the use of innovative solutions, the Polish economy has managed to escape the hard sting of the recent slump.
