Abstract: The current state and perspectives of extractive distillation in thermally coupled complex columns are discussed. Examples are described the separation of various azeotropic mixtures by extractive distillation in such installations. The energy efficiency is analyzed of complex extractive distillation columns. Examples of industrial application of the process are considered.
