Abstract: The paper discusses two types of clauses that may function as postmodifiers of the noun phrase heads, namely attributive relative clauses and appositive clauses. In the paper we focus on the structural and functional aspects of these postmodifying clauses. Crucial attention is devoted to finite and non-finite structures of postmodifying clauses as well as their restrictive and non-restrictive functions.
