Abstract: The quality of environment is directly influenced by transport of substances in the soil. This study was realized in the years 2012-2014 in the locality Eastern Slovak Lowland. The transport function of heavy soils was observed by selected soil parameters. Soil samples were taken from three depths from 0.0-0.6 m to 0.2m. The results of the study showed significant heterogeneity of soil conditions in the Eastern Slovak Lowland. We found changes of different soil types over very short distances. The analysis of variance confirmed statistically significant effect of experimental year and soil profile on bulk density, total porosity and maximum capillary capacity of soil.
