Abstract: The main problem of multiphase flow application in devices and technologies is optimization of the processes of fluid flow and heat transfer for the purposes of energy saving and environmental protection. This paper shows the effect of dispersed phase concentration on local characteristics of the two-phase flow. Using the LDA, the data on hydrodynamics in a sedimentation apparatus with inclined walls and distribution of concentration and velocity of sand particles in a gravitational jet were obtained.
