Abstract: Polyprenols were found in a number of plants, animals and microorganisms. Dolichols are partially hydrogenated polyprenols. The physiological activity of dolichols is several times higher than that of polyprenols. We analyzed polyisoprenoid alcohols (dolichols and polyprenols) in the lipophilic extracts from over40 plant species of the Pinaceae, Onagraceae, Eleagnaceae, Asteraceae, Solanaceae, Vitaceae, Malvaceae, and Rosaceae families by high-performance liquid chromatography method. The constituents of some mushrooms of Tricholomatacea, Boletaceae, and Licoperdaceae families were tested for the first time. Special attention was paid to the occurrence of dolichols in fruit bodies of mushrooms. Dolichols were determined for the first time in this raw material. These results may be used for chemotaxonomic and medical purposes.
