Abstract: Human resources of the organization are commonly recognized as strategic. This is attributed to the knowledge, skills, and involvement of employees in the organization's economic performance. For many years, researchers have sought to demonstrate the relationship between effective and efficient human resource management and the improvement of the economic situation of companies, explaining these relationships through a variety of theoretical models. Despite numerous studies in this area, there are still many questions that are difficult to answer. The possible cause of this is the usage of quantitative methods in the researches and marginalization of qualitative methods. For this reason, the purpose of the article is to present the possibilities offered by qualitative research in the development of the theory explaining the relationship between the HRM and organizational performance.
