Abstract: The article considers theoretical and methodological aspects of host country’s attractiveness for foreign direct investment. The methodology of assessment country's attractiveness for foreign direct investment is developed. Using the methodology a comparative analysis of attractiveness of Belarus and other countries of the region for direct investors is carried out. Based on the results obtained during the assessment of attractiveness of Belarus for foreign direct investment, recommendations for improving conditions to attract foreign direct investment in domestic economy at the present stage are formulated.
