Abstract: Thermodynamic approach was applied to calculate the chemical species of Zn, Cd and Pb for different scenarios of sea-type waters of various pH, levels of Zn, Cd, Pb and dissolved organic carbon. These parameters were experimentally determined in June 2015 on the example of the saline Pomorie Lake, whose waters are polluted by human activities. Computer program Visual Minteq, Version 3.1 was employed and two thermodynamic models were applied – the classical ion-association model and the Stockholm Humic Model (SHM).
Keywords: chemical species, thermodynamic modeling, sea-type waters
