Abstract: The word ‘aesthetic’ is often used in everyday life situations. People tend to use this term when they comment on an art or music piece when it comes to interior or exterior designing or even in the fashion or beauty sphere; there is a separate field in medicine named ‘aesthetic medicine’. However, using this word daily is not very complicated and there is a possibility that the users rarely consider the origins and theory that support this concept. The idea of aesthetics is present in many fields, but in this article, it will be analyzed in terms of literature, precisely the language and its aesthetic function that is used in modern women’s fiction, in a literary genre called Chick-lit.
