Abstract: The corrosion behavior of galvanic Zn and nano-composite Zn in the corrosion medium of 5% NaCl solution was investigated. The main points of discussion are the superior performance of the Zn- composite coating and the “self-healing” effects in the presence of nano-aggregates (0.5 g/l stabilized core-shell micelles). The increased corrosion resistance of the composite Zn coating was evaluated by electrochemical techniques (PDP, SVET) and surface analysis (XPS, SEM) of the coatings after treatment.
