Abstract: From 2005 to 2009, experiments with winter barley cultivars—Aheloy, Vesletz, Panagon, Hemus, Emon, Kaskadior, Obzor, and Korten—were carried out at the experimental field of the Cotton and Durum Wheat Research Institute. The varieties were tested under the dry conditions of vertisols in Central Southern Bulgaria, using fertilization rates of N10 P8 after sunflower as a precursor. The results showed that the two-row barley variety Emon and the six-row variety Aheloy 2 achieved the highest yields.
