Abstract: There are cases when an investor tries himself to administer, design and/or supervise the activities on a construction site. The recommended solution for administering, designing and supervising the works is to appoint on contract a specialised consultant or specialised engineers to perform the services on behalf of the client with regard on the pre – established conditions and parameters. In order to perform these services the consultants will sign contracts with the investor; the contract stipulates exactly the type of service the consultant is supposed to perform (managing, designing, supervising, etc.). The contract also makes clear the most important parameters to observe – to respect the completion time, to maintain the limits of the budget, to ensure safety on the site and to realise the quality of the work, as established by the technical specifications.
