Biography
Dr. Evgenia Krasimova Vasileva is a researcher at the Institute of Engineering Chemistry, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), where she has worked since 2003 and currently serves as Chief Assistant Professor. She holds a PhD (2011) and an academic background in Information and Control Technologies from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia.
Her scientific work focuses on environmental biotechnology and ecological engineering, particularly biotechnological methods for water and wastewater treatment, denitrification and dehalogenation processes, microbial immobilization techniques, and applications related to microbial fuel cells. Dr. Vasileva has authored and co authored numerous peer reviewed publications in the fields of ecology, environmental safety, biodegradation of halogenated pollutants, and advanced methods for pollutant removal from natural water systems. She is also a member of the Union of Chemists and the Union of Catalysts.
