Biography
Born in 1984 in Üsküdar, Istanbul, she graduated from Burak Bora Anatolian High School (Science and Mathematics) and earned her degree in Landscape Architecture from Istanbul University in 2006. After working in private landscape architecture firms in Istanbul, she joined Düzce University in 2007 as a research assistant, completed her master’s degree in 2009, and later earned her PhD in Landscape Planning in 2014.
In 2014 she spent six months in California as a visiting researcher at Cal State Northridge with a TÜBİTAK 2214/A overseas research scholarship, conducting research and attending courses in landscape planning. She has been a faculty member in the Landscape Planning division at Düzce University since 2014, becoming Associate Professor in 2019 and Professor in 2025.
Her work focuses on landscape planning, geographic information systems, participatory planning, sustainable development, and ecotourism management. She has presented at many national and international conferences, published and reviewed for peer reviewed journals, contributed to the Yeşilırmak Basin Landscape Atlas project, and served on management committees for five EU COST Actions related to urban and rural landscape planning. She is involved in ongoing EU projects and has received awards including the 10th National Planning and Analysis Award (2018) and a Council of Europe Landscape Award recognition for an inspiring project (2018 to 2019). She also holds several university and professional service roles.
