Streszczenie: A gas phase catalytic method for the oxidative conversion of benzene to maleic anhydride over vanadium containing catalysts supported on anatase titanium dioxide is investigated. The catalysts were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), infrared spectroscopy (IR), and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The nature of the active centers and the oxidation states of vanadium in the catalysts were determined. Optimal reaction conditions were established (W = 15 000 h⁻¹, C₆H₆ = 24.9 g/m³, T = 643 K). Under these conditions, the gas phase oxidation of benzene to maleic anhydride proceeds with a yield of 73% at a benzene conversion of 94% and a selectivity of 77.6%.
