Rezumat: Propane dehydrogenation in a membrane reactor on the АОК-73-24 industrial chromia–alumina catalyst is studied at 773–873 K. Membranes based on a 30 μm thick foils made of the Pd–6%In–0.5%Ru and Pd-6%Ru alloys are used. It is shown that because of a high hydrogen permeability of the Pd-In-Ru membrane there is a fast deactivation of the catalytic system due to the formation of carbon deposits. When using Pd-Ru membranes with lower hydrogen permeability, the deactivation rate of the catalytic system decreases and the yield of propylene becomes higher than that achieved in the “non-membrane” process.
