INFLUENCE OF THE PROPERTIES OF THE JOINT INSULATION COMPONENTS ON THE SPACE CHARGE AND ELECTRIC FIELD

Rezumat: This paper deals with the influence of the nature and the electrical properties (conductivity and permittivity) of the DC joints insulations components on space charge accumulation and electric field repartition at the XLPE/EPR and XLPE/EPDM joints insulation interfaces. The results show that the conductivity and permittivity have lower values for XLPE than for EPDM and EPR samples. Also, the charge accumulated at the XLPE/EPDM interface has lower values (with two orders of magnitude) than those on XLPE/EPR samples. Concerning the electric field, its values are more than twice higher on XLPE/EPR samples than on XLPE/EPDM ones. Finally it is shown that the use for DC joint insulations manufacture of XLPE/EPDM is more benefic, than XLPE/EPR.
