Rezumat: Language learning has changed significantly since the introduction of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) that focuses on an action-oriented approach and learner-centred teaching. The aim of language learning is to use a target language in real-life situations efficiently, which includes three aspects such as accuracy, appropriacy and naturalness. The coursebooks that are methodologically-modified in order to match the requirements of the curricula (learning objectives) are based on materials that appear to be more formal and neutral rather than informal. Reading contemporary literary prose might enrich informal language acquisition as it provides learners with the language that is used in informal situations. Our study focuses on an analysis of the speeches of characters, focusing on utterance naturalness and context appropriacy.
Cuvinte cheie: informal language, informal words and phrases, informal grammar, authentic language
