Rezumat: Language teachers prefer testing grammar and vocabulary to testing productive skills as this assessment appears to be more subjective rather than objective. As far as productive skills are concerned, the testing techniques enable teachers to produce tests that meet the criteria of reliability, validity and objectivity. In our study, we introduced some variables and tested their effect on ensuring validity as well as objectivity. The data achieved in the workshops and comments of the teachers who participated in them will be presented and analysed with the aim to provide some recommendations for those who are involved in assessing speaking skills.
Cuvinte cheie: speaking skills, testing, objectivity, validity, authenticity, real-life tasks
