Rezumat: Paste facade renders are produced mainly to supply new activity within the building industry or the increasing trend of applying exterior thermal insulation to pre-constructed domestic houses and flats. These facade renders are supplied in a soft paste form, dispersed with differing binding agents, such as acrylate, silicon, or silicate. White titanium dioxide (TiO2), in the crystalline form of surface treated rutile, is commonly used as the basic colouring component, subsequently being tinted with other pigments to offer a range of colour shades. This paper describes the substitution of rutile TiO2 with the alternate TiO2 crystalline form of anatase, that being photocatalytic in a nano-particle size. Two series of samples were suggested and produced, the first set was retained at common conditions (reference specimens) whereas the second series of samples was exposed to UV radiation. Then, differences between the main physical and mechanical properties of the two series were examined.
