Biography
Prof. Alexander Pogrebnjak is a Ukrainian physicist and materials scientist specializing in nanoelectronics, surface engineering, and advanced functional coatings. He is Head of the Department of Nanoelectronics at Sumy State University (Ukraine) and previously served as Director of the Sumy Institute for Surface Modification. His research focuses on high dose ion implantation, plasma and ion beam surface modification, PVD coating technologies, and the development of hard and superhard nanocomposite multilayer coatings, including applications in biomedical materials.
Prof. Pogrebnjak has extensive international research experience, including internships at institutions such as Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and the National Institute for Materials Science (Japan). He has authored over 300 Scopus indexed publications, holds 72 patents (including international patents), and has supervised numerous PhD and postdoctoral researchers.
