Abstract: We introduce a class of sparse matrices with weights Um(Ap1) of order m by m, where m is a composite natural number, p1 is a divisor of m and Ap1 is a set of non zero real numbers, which we call weights. Each matrix Um(Ap1) has all entries 0 except for a small number of entries that belongs to the set Ap1. The construction of Um(Ap1) is achieved by iteration and the invertible transform induced by Um(Ap1) is suitable for revealing information at different scales.
Keywords: sparse matrices with weights, linear transform, local information
